LAW, DONOHUE, AND BRUMOS PORSCHE SET FOR SAHLEN'S
6 HOURS OF THE GLEN ROLEX GRAND AM GRAN AM EVENT
Grand American
Rolex Sports Car series driver Darren Law, his teammate David Donohue,
and the entire Brumos Porsche Daytona Prototype race team are travelling
to upstate New York for the Sahlen's 6 Hours of The Glen to be held
at the picturesque and challenging Watkins Glen International Speedway,
the weekend of June 18-20. The Brumos team is no stranger
to success at The Glen as they won there last year, and Law is optimistic
that the #58 Red Bull liveried Fabcar Porsche will again find itself
in victory lane.
"We had a solid race at Tremblant," remarked Law, referring
to the team's competitive showing at the May 23rd event. "We
for sure showed that we have the speed, and I think we can carry
that speed with what we have learned this season into the Watkins
weekend."
Porsche works driver Sascha Maassen will again team with Law and
Donohue, and Darren clearly sees this as an advantage.
"David (Donohue) and I work well with Sascha," said Law,
"and having him there simply makes the team that much stronger."
The 3.4 mile Watkins Glen racetrack has long been a favorite of
Law's, and his previous success there winning the event in 2000
and 2001 in GT cars, gives him confidence heading into the 6 hour
event.
"Watkins has always been one of those tracks that rewards a
technical and precise driver," said Darren. "Of
course there is a ton of history at that track, but I love the challenge
of trying to get the most out of the car there. I think our Brumos
Porsche is very well suited to that kind of track, and I feel we
are going to be pretty good there."
The Rolex Grand American Sahlen's 6 Hours of The Glen endurance
main event is scheduled for 11 am EST on Sunday, June 20.
Speed Channel will carry the race live in a two-part segment beginning
at 11 am and 3 pm EST respectively. Stay up to date with all Darren's
