LAW CHARGES THROUGH LAGUNA GRAND-AM CUP FIELDS FOR BACK-TO-BACK
PODIUM
Grand-Am Cup standout Darren Law backed up his spectacular drive
in Fontana two weekends ago with another fantastic display of racecraft
as he worked his way through a 70 car strong field to finish second
in this weekend's Grand Am Cup 200 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Piloting the #6 Zoom Motorsports Porsche 996, Law took over from
teammate Mike McCalmont at a driver change on lap 22, and never
looked back as he sliced his way through the field.
Statistics
Law's drive and the podium finish allowed both he and McCalmont
to maintian there hold on second place in the driver championship
points race, and to close the gap considerably to the points leaders.
Law's performance also saw the Zoom entry take the checkered flag
as the highest finishing Porsche in the event.
Quotes
"That really was a good race," remarked Law following
the event. "I came out of the pits pretty much at the back
of the pack and spent my whole stint working my way back up through
traffic. The Porsche is really a momentum car, and even though I
was able to close in on the #05 Mustang (race winner David Epringham)
he was able to use traffic and he would just be able to pull a gap
on me with all that power. I'm happy overall though, and I want
to thank Kirk Spencer and Greg Fordahl for giving us a potential
podium car every weekend."
