LAW, DONOHUE, AND BRUMOS PORSCHE PERSERVERE TO TOP 10 FINISH IN ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

Endurance racing champions Darren Law, David Donohue and the Brumos Porsche squad arrived at Daytona International Speedway ready for battle in the 43rd Rolex 24 at Daytona, and walked away with a well earned 8th place finish in one of road racing's most challenging endurance contests.  Although the race was relatively uneventful for the #58 Red Bull Brumos team, the crew worked throughout the night to ensure that the blue and red liveried Porsche powered FABCAR stayed competitive.

Law and Donohue were joined by European racing champions Lucas Luhr and Sascha Maassen, for a potent driver lineup that mirrored last year's squad.  Donohue qualified the #58 Brumos Daytona Prototype 14th with a lap of 1:49.324 around the 3.5 mile roadcourse, started the race, and then handed the car off to Law.

Quotes
"Finishing the 24 hour is always a challenge, and I'm glad that we accomplished that goal and that we were able to take some points away from the race," said a tired Law following the event.  "We basically set a steady pace and tried to keep to it throughout the race.  We had a couple of incidents with debris puncturing radiators, but really nothing major, although the Brumos guys really hustled to get the car back on track."

"David, Sascha and Lucas drove great, and our Porsche powerplant never skipped a beat," continued Darren. "Overall, I think we're all pretty happy with the way things went, and I'm looking forward to the Homestead race."

Race Info
The 2005 Rolex 24 at Daytona was held amid clear but cool conditions; a stark contrast to the deluge of '04 that forced a red flag to be thrown on the race.   The 43rd running of the Rolex 24 saw a total of 43 lead changes among 16 different drivers, making it one of the most competitive Daytona 24 hour endurance contests ever.

Law and the entire Brumos squad travel next to Homestead Miami Speedway for the Grand Prix of Miami to be held the weekend of March 3-6.
