LAW, DONOHUE, AND BRUMOS PORSCHE
SHOW STRONG SEVENTH PLACE FINISH AT DAYTON
The Brumos Porsche 250 at Daytona International Speedway was held
this past Thursday, and the #58 Red Bull Brumos Porsche finished
7th overall at the hands of Darren Law and David Donohue, after
working through much of the Rolex Grand American Daytona Prototype
field. The 250-mile event started during daylight hours on a slightly
damp track, and went on into the evening, finishing under the speedway
lights.
Law took the green flag for the Brumos 250 amidst a field of 25
Daytona Prototypes and 28 GT cars, and worked his way up to 11th
before handing the car over to teammate Donohue on a yellow flag
pitstop for fuel and tires on lap 22.
Despite new paving throughout the infield road course section of
the 3.56 mile circuit that uses much of the high banked area of
the Daytona International Speedway, rain just prior to the event
made driving conditions treacherous, and there was a total of 4
caution flag periods over the course of the 70 lap race.
"The car was really pretty good," remarked Law after his
stint behind the wheel of the #58 machine. "We seem to be getting
better each time out. The new paving on the infield was smooth and
a big improvement from the last time we were here."
The Rolex Grand American Sports Car Series takes a month long break
until the weekend of July 29th to August 1st for the Porsche 250
presented by Bradley Arant at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham,
Alabama.
