DARREN LAW COMPLETES BUSY RACE WEEKEND AT BARBER WITH COMPETITIVE
6TH PLACE FINISH
Grand
American Rolex Series regular competitor
Darren Law took a red-eye flight Saturday night following a race
on the west coast, and arrived ready for action in Alabama Sunday
morning for the Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant at Barber
Motorsports Park. Law of Phoenix, Arizona joined David Donohue and
the Brumos Porsche squad, as they tackled the Rolex Series competition
with their #58 Red Bull sponsored Brumos Porsche Fabcar Daytona
Prototype, and came away with a well earned 6th place
finish.
Qualifying
Donohue qualified the #58 a respectable 12th on the grid with a
lap 1:23.747 around the 2.3- mile 15-turn natural terrain road course.
With fifth through fifteenth qualifying positions separated by one
second, the race promised to be close, and a clean, mistake free
run was at a premium.
Moving Through the Field
Donohue, as qualifier, was obligated to start the race, and took
the green flag at 12:14 PM EST in a pack of 20 Daytona Prototypes.
After a strong stint, Donohue pitted during a full course caution
on lap 44, and Law took over to the end of the 95-lap event. The
start of Darren’s stint was in dry conditions, although rain
threatened, and indeed a short burst of precipitation created a
wet track for a brief period. Through a smart pit strategy and consistent
pace, Law was able to gain several positions. As the track dried
toward the end of the race, Law was able to maintain his 6th position
to the checkered flag.
Quotes
Darren Law:
"I was happy with that performance across the board. The Brumos
guys gave us a solid car, David did a good job with set-up, and
I was pleased with my stint. I have to thank Bob Snodgrass (Brumos
team Principal) for allowing me the chance to compete in the other
race at Portland, and then show up here today for our event. I hope
this 6th place finish is a sign of good things to come down the
road."
Sponsors
Darren wishes to extend a special thank you to the people at CDOC
who provided him with extra driving gear in very short notice for
this weekend. CDOC carries a wide range of top level vehicle and

Coming up Next
The Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series will be at Watkins Glen
the weekend of August 11-12 for the CompUSA 200, and of course Darren
and the Brumos squad will there ready to race.
