LAW, DONOHUE AND BRUMOS
PORSCHE HEAD SOUTH OF THE BORDER FOR MEXICO CITY ROLEX SPORTS CAR
SERIES EVENT
Phoenix, Arizona –—
The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, a 2.5-mile road course outside
Mexico City, Mexico is the site of the next endurance event on the
2006 Rolex Sports Car Series schedule, and Darren Law, David Donohue
and the Brumos Porsche squad are finishing off preparations for
the quickly approaching March 2-4 weekend. After a strong
showing at the Rolex 24 at Daytona earlier this month, the Brumos
squad is cautiously optimistic for what could be a turnaround season
for the legendary racing team.
FANtastic Mexico City Race
This year's Mexico City race marks the second time the Rolex
Sports Car Series has visited the area, and following the simply
astounding fan turnout and close race action of the 2005 event,
2006 promises to be that much stronger. A total of 25 Daytona
Prototypes and 12 GT cars are currently entered for the 2 hour 45
minute race.
Preparing
Phoenix, Arizona resident and long time endurance driver Law has
been preparing for the Mexico City race since flying home from Daytona,
with daily runs to ensure he is in peak physical condition.
Law, like many of his Brumos squad teammates, was encouraged with
the strong performance of the #58 Red Bull Porsche Powered Fabcar
at the Daytona race, and is hopeful that similar performances will
be in the cards for the remainder of the season.
Quotes –— Darren Law
“"We definitely had a good run at Daytona. It's encouraging
for sure, but we also know that there are a bunch of solid teams
that will be very tough competition. Mexico City was a good
race last year, and I couldn't believe how many fans there were.
We're all looking forward to this year's race, and hopefully David
(Donohue) and I can give the Brumos guys a little to cheer about."
